We’re proud to announce that McGuigan Builders has won the Judges Silver Award at the Irish Construction Excellence (ICE) Awards for our restoration work on St. Macartan’s Cathedral in Monaghan. This recognition is a major milestone for our team and a celebration of the expertise, dedication, and care that went into bringing this historic structure back to life.
St. Macartan’s Cathedral is an iconic landmark in Monaghan, originally built between 1861 and 1893. Restoring such a significant building came with challenges, from deteriorated stonework to safety risks for the public and surrounding properties. But for us, nothing was too big to take on. This project required detailed planning, collaboration with an expert team of architects and engineers, and a shared passion for preserving heritage.
We’re incredibly proud of the end result: a cathedral restored to the highest standards, ready to be appreciated by the people of Monaghan and all who visit. You can learn more about this award-winning project on our project page.
Thank you to the ICE Awards judges, our project partners, and everyone who contributed to making this achievement possible.
